About Fred Smith
You could say music is in my blood. Four generations of musicians, who share first and last names. My great grandfather who played trumpet, my grandfather was a drummer and had his own "Big Band", my dad, a multi-talented musician that played guitar, bass, mandolin and tenor banjo. I started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of fifteen, and soon was performing in coffeehouses, churches, pubs and festivals in the southern Ontario area. I have played with groups, such as, "Lazarus, Broken Image, Hairy Canary, Kenny and the 14th floor, Costello & Smith and have also perfomed as a solo artist at "Hamilton Music Scene" events and at Christopher Clause' award winning Beatle tribute shows. I have recently started recording my solo debut cd, "Sky Blue Eyes" with Christopher and have my first track,"Factory Blues" completed. I have also recorded three gospel tunes, that were produced by Dan Aiken of "Junkhouse" fame at his "Catherine North Studio", and i am featured on the Peter & Rebecca Kramer recording,"My Hurting Wife". We thank Kramer Sound Studio for recording us through the "Give Back Program". -- Visit the band Costello & Smith on MySpace.com
